Stage6 crankshaft seal installation tool for Minarelli AM6
High-quality tool, CNC machined from solid metal and anodized, makes installing crankshaft oil seals a breeze. For 50cc motorcycles with AM6 engines such as the Beta RR, Rieju MRT, Peugeot XP6, Fantic 50, SHerco 50, and many others.
Why is a special tool for sealing rings useful?
Correct installation of oil seals is critical to engine performance and longevity. Seals must be installed absolutely straight and to the correct depth for their application. Furthermore, force must be applied at the correct point during installation to avoid structural damage to the seals (oil seal deformation).
Without the right tool, this is often very difficult. This is where the STAGE6 tool comes in, which simplifies the installation of sealing rings. The installation tool is available for various engine types.
Structure of the Stage6 sealing ring assembly tool
The tool has a modular design, which saves you money if you want to use it for multiple engines. The body (on the left in the photo) is used with multiple inserts, which are held onto the main tool by an O-ring.
Each insert is laser-engraved with, so you can easily identify the correct attachment.
- Variator side = Variomatic side
- Ignition side = Ignition side
- Drive side = Drive side (for 50cc motorcycles)
On the back of the main tool is a replaceable orange anodized cap; over time, it wears away if you hit it with a hammer. It features the playful slogan "Hit me one more time."
Tips for using and installing oil seals:
It is recommended to apply grease to the inside of the oil seals to lubricate the contact point with the shaft. Caution: Do not apply grease to PTFE seals or seals with PTFE lips.
During assembly, do not use grease or oil on the outside of the gasket, otherwise it may not hold in place over time. For difficult applications, you can try moistening the outside of the gasket with a solvent such as gasoline.
The tool will position the gasket at the correct depth. It's necessary to measure the position of the old gasket before removing it and check the position of the new gasket after installation.
The tool can be pushed by hand. If using a hammer, we recommend using a soft PVC hammer to keep the tool in good condition.
Before using the hammer tool, press the gasket in by hand for the first few millimeters to ensure it is properly seated. This ensures the gasket is not damaged.
