CAF4 high temperature silicone for sealing engines and exhausts
CAF4 white sealing paste for bonding and sealing mechanical parts , especially in areas subject to very high thermal loads. CAF4 paste remains fluid, allowing you to take your time assembling parts such as doors/pipes or toilet bowls.
CAF4 is a single-component silicone elastomer that cures at room temperature. It is self-leveling , fast-curing , has excellent mechanical properties, good thermal stability, and provides good electrical insulation (dielectric).
This means that all the mechanical parts of your motorbike, scooter or moped are perfectly sealed!
If this product isn't right for you, you'll find a wide range of sealants on our website.
The advantages of CAF4:
- Easy processing due to adapted viscosity Good heat resistance Chemical resistance Non-stick properties Excellent aging resistance Dielectric properties
- Use and application of sealants:
Thanks to its properties as a fluid silicone elastomer that vulcanizes at room temperature and is primarily intended for various industrial purposes, CAF 4 remains a must for industrial applications such as:
Bonding and sealing between materials of the same or different nature .
Flexible bonding and sealing:
One of the two parts to be joined is glued. The other part is attached as quickly as possible. Once the two parts are joined, no immediate stress should be applied. The time depends on the thickness of the product used. Crosslinking can be accelerated by increasing the temperature to a maximum of 160°C with dry heat.
What are the technical specifications of CAF 4 joint sealant?
- Setting time: 10 minutes
- Curing time: 5 hours
- Application range: -65°C to +250°C
- Strength: 3.8 MPa
- Applications: Engine and exhaust
- Color: White
How is CAF 4 sealant used?
CAF 4 sealant is mainly used for various industrial purposes, such as flexible bonding and sealing of materials, conduction of fabrics for non-stick and thermal protection, electrical insulation and protection of electronic components.
It can be used to bond EVC plastics and silicones, to coat cylinders, to coat fabrics to protect robot arms, to protect/insulate electrical component joints, to repair pipe seals and for thermal insulation.
How do you apply CAF 4 joint paste?
CAF 4 joint paste is supplied ready to use and can be applied by hand or with suitable equipment. It is recommended to apply the paste to clean, dry surfaces.
To bond materials, one of the two parts must be glued and the other must be assembled as quickly as possible. After joining, do not load immediately, as the curing time depends on the thickness of the material used.
Crosslinking can be accelerated by increasing the temperature up to a maximum of 160°C with dry heat.
Our recommendations for effective use of CAF4:
- Make sure surfaces are clean and free from grease before application .
- Use a small amount of paste, as a large amount is not needed.
- Assemble the elements according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Use the assembled elements within 10 minutes of assembly
