Digital speed limiter with Double-Check button
Digital speed limiter with double-check button and automatic reactivation. Digital calculation and control of speed and rpm.
Function
The digital speed limiter features a powerful microprocessor that continuously calculates and monitors the current speed and rpm. Speed is detected via a wheel sensor and a small self-adhesive magnet, while rpm is measured directly from the CDI ignition cable.
KMH mode
In KMH mode, you can set a maximum speed limit. When this limit is reached, the module brakes the scooter, gradually reducing the speed. This is done via variably adjustable pre-steps to ensure a smooth transition.
Below the set maximum speed, the revs remain unchanged, which has a positive effect on acceleration and hill climbing.
Speed mode
In speed mode, the module adjusts the speed of the scooter based on an adjustable maximum speed.
When this limit is reached, the DZB intervenes and reduces the vehicle's speed. When the speed is below the set limit, performance is unaffected.
Combined mode
In combined mode, the module operates with both a speed limit and a KM/H limit. This allows for fine-tuning for high-revving vehicles to achieve a lower top speed.
Programming and control
To program the maximum speed/number of revolutions, simply press the programming button.
To deactivate the accelerator, simply briefly press the brake and the button.
To reactivate it, briefly turn the ignition off and on again.
Dimensions and installation
The compact DZB housing measures 45x45x18 mm with a mounting eyelet. The connection cable is 45-50 cm long, and the button cable is approximately 100 cm long. The wheel sensor measures 28x19 mm with a cable approximately 50 cm long. The sensor is positioned on the front or rear wheel, while the magnet is placed on the rim flange or inside the brake disc. Installation is easy thanks to the included quick-release cable connectors.
Digital or analog speed limiter
The digital speed limiter offers decisive advantages over analog limiters. Instead of coarse steps, it allows for continuous speed adjustment with 99.9% accuracy. Furthermore, it only changes the ignition behavior when the limit is reached, thus avoiding power losses at low revs.
The advantages in summary
- Digital speed and rpm control
- Continuously programmable speed and rpm
- Adjustable pre-stages for a smooth transition
- No power reduction below top speed in KMH mode
- No power reduction at low revs in speed mode
- Automatic limit activation with Double-Check safety mechanism
- Easy installation thanks to quick-fit cable connectors and compact design
Scope of supply and compatibility
The package includes the KMH speed limiter, four quick-connect connectors, a wheel sensor with a self-adhesive magnet, and detailed installation instructions. The module is compatible with most carbureted 2-stroke motorcycles, such as CPI and Keeway, but not with 4-stroke motorcycles, direct injection motorcycles, Morini engines, or dual-pickup systems.
