Digital speed limiter with brake lever code and automatic reactivation
Digital calculation and control of speed and rpm
Function:
The digital speed limiter (DZB) is equipped with a powerful microprocessor that continuously calculates and analyses the speed and rpm.
Determining the speed:
- The speed is determined by the wheel sensor supplied together with a small self-adhesive magnet for the rim.
- The speed is calculated directly through the CDI ignition pick-up cable at each piston revolution.
Operating mode:
KMH Mode:
- In KMH mode, a maximum speed limit is set.
- The DZB accelerates the scooter by reducing the speed as soon as this limit is reached.
- A variably adjustable pre-stage allows for a gradual reduction in speed just before maximum speed, for a smooth transition.
- Below the set maximum speed, the speed remains unchanged.
Speed Mode:
- The wheel sensor is not needed in speed mode.
- The DZB regulates the scooter only through the adjustable maximum speed.
- If the speed drops below the set limit, the DZB does not intervene to prevent a loss of power in the lower speed range.
Combined mode:
- The DZB operates simultaneously at the set RPM and KMH limit.
- Especially useful when a high-revving scooter needs to be set to a low top speed.
Programming and control:
Programming the maximum speed is done simply by pressing the internal programming button.
Deactivation:
- To deactivate the accelerator, a 6-digit Morse code is entered using the brake lever.
- To reactivate it, simply briefly turn the ignition off and on again.
Dimensions and installation:
- The DZB housing is compact (45x45x18 mm + mounting eyelet).
- The connecting cables are 45-50 cm long.
- The wheel sensor has dimensions of approximately 28x19 mm, with a cable length of approximately 50 cm.
- Installation is easy thanks to 4 quick cable connectors.
- Installation requires connecting +12V (switched via the ignition lock), brake signal, pickup signal and ground/minus.
- In KMH mode, the wheel sensor and wheel magnet must also be connected to the front or rear wheel.
The advantages in summary:
- Digital speed and rpm control
- Continuous programming
- Adjustable pre-stages for a smooth transition
- No power reduction below top speed in KMH mode
- No power reduction in the lower speed range in speed mode
- Automatic activation of limitation
- Deactivation of the brake lever via code
- Individually adjustable brake lever code
- Quick cable connector for easy installation
- Optimal workmanship for longer life
Supply and compatibility:
The scope of delivery includes the KMH rev limiter, 4 quick connectors, the wheel sensor with self-adhesive wheel magnet and detailed step-by-step installation instructions.
The DZB is compatible with most 2-stroke carbureted motorcycles (e.g. CPI and Keeway with Minarelli replica (1E40QMB)), but does not work with 4-stroke motorcycles, direct injection motorcycles, Morini engines and motorcycles with double pick-up.
