The most advanced production of Malossi thermal units is represented by the Flanged Mount cylinders, specifically designed for the Malossi C-One and RC-One engine crankcases and intended exclusively for liquid-cooled scooters.
Designed specifically for top-level racing use, they are equipped with the latest evolution of the iconic Malossi 7-port technology, whose absolute strong point is the support given to the main rear transfer ports thanks to the use of the two ports opposite the exhaust, now combined with the advantage of eliminating the bulk of the through-hole studs, now shorter and external. Taking full advantage of all the additional space guaranteed by the flanged design, the ports have been redesigned to be wider and able to connect perfectly with those of the Malossi engine crankcases.
The exhaust conformation includes a structure equipped with an exceptionally thin crosspiece with a split elliptical light, to reduce stress on the piston ring to a minimum, combined with an exhaust connection machined from solid that continues its lines.
The internal profile of the head, once again of the modular type, has been totally evolved and thanks to its design now guarantees more torque at all rpm. The head cover is in forged aluminum, red anodized and turned on numerically controlled machines with extremely high precision.
The installation of a Testa Rossa Flanged Mount cylinder necessarily requires installation on a Malossi C-One or RC-One crankcase and the use of a crankshaft with a connecting rod length different from the original. To fully exploit the potential of these thermal units, it is necessary to draw heavily from the Malossi catalogue, selecting all the racing components produced by the Bologna-based company.
